Throwing Punches at Jabz Boxing

I’ve never been a fan of working out, even though I grew up playing softball. One of the main reasons is I am self conscious and don’t particularly like working out in front of people. Jabz Boxing has changed all of that.

What started out as signing up to help a friend with a new business venture has turned into an obsession. Open six days a week, every day you are focusing on a different body part, except Saturdays. Saturdays are called the Extreme class for a reason.

Class Descriptions

As mentioned above, each day targets a different body part, as described below:

  • Monday: Total body
  • Tuesday: Arms and chest
  • Wednesday: Leg day
  • Thursday: Shoulders, back and triceps
  • Friday: Abs and core
  • Saturday: Total body

Time to Throw Down

Now that you have decided you want to try Jabz Boxing, sign up for a free week! Before your first class, you’ll get one on one explanation of the four boxing rounds and how the class is setup.

Prepare yourself for two rounds of 16 stations for an intense 55 minute workout. You will be at each station for 45 seconds with a 25 second cardio blast between each one.

Jabz Boxing Rounds

Stations 1-4 are your traditional boxing stations, while rounds 5-16 are in the ring and around the perimeter using weights, balls and your own body weight. However, before you start, don’t forget to warmup! There are rowing machine, speed bags, and a daily calendar for you to work off of.

The traditional stations (1-4) include jabz, kicks, hooks and uppercuts mixed with pushups, burpees, squats and high knees. Stations 5-8 are inside the ring and can include planks, jumping jacks, more burpees, lunges, squats and anything else you can think of! Outside the ring, you will find everything else. Station 12 will always be your ropes, at least at Jabz Voorhees.

Now for the cardio blast. Inside the ring, you will most likely be crunching and punching. Around the ring, prepare for 25 seconds of jumping jacks, burpees, squats or anything else to get your blood pumping. Finally, in between rounds 9-16, you will be facing Bob, or the body opponent bag. Here is where you can take your frustrations of the day out. The trainers and owners will also be around so you can hit the mitts.

Before you can say you survived Jabz Boxing, you end with a cool down cardio blast and stretching. There is almost always a sweaty class picture at the end too, especially on Taco Tuesday.

What started out as helping a friend with a new business venture has turned into new friendships, increased self confidence and a whole lot of laughs. What are you waiting for…if you’re a female, contact Jabz Boxing today for your free week to see what it’s all about.
