Thanksgiving Activities for All

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the blessings in our lives and express gratitude for the abundance we enjoy. Beyond the delectable turkey and mouthwatering pies, it’s the cherished traditions that make this holiday truly special. Here are just a few Thanksgiving Activities for before or day of.

Friendsgiving

One tradition we started last year was Friendsgiving. It was a nice way for all of our friends to come together since we all have such busy schedules. One of my favorite parts was getting to taste my friend’s favorite Thanksgiving Day recipes and trying my own new recipes. This is also a great time for a recipe swap. Bring one recipe and walk out with many more.

Turkey Trots or Other Outdoor Activities

Many people I know star the day by running a turkey trot or by playing football. A’s tradition has been meeting up with friends to play basketball, dodgeball and other sports Thanksgiving morning. While the majority are out turkey trotting, I prefer to stay home and watch one of the parades.

Parades, Football & Dogs

What’s Thanksgiving without a parade? While many watch Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to welcome Santa before eating their turkey, many in the Philadelphia region watch the 6ABC parade. Once the parades are over, many will turn their attention the the National Football League and their Thanksgiving games. However, while the humans are watching the games, our four-legged family members will most likely want to tune into the National Dog Show.

Welcome Santa!

One of the greatest memories I have is starting and ending Thanksgiving day with my uncle by starting to decorate his house for Christmas. This was at least a 3 day job, so the earlier we started, the better. Today, it’s decorating our house, which is about a 3 day job with how A decorates.

These are just four activities many people partake in during the Thanksgiving holiday. Do you and your family and friends participate in any Thanksgiving activities?
